Project Veronica Part 5: Parts Parts Parts!

Hey everyone, Matt here back with another update on Project Veronica. It's been a while since I posted about the bike, but I've been busy reading manuals, researching upgrades and sourcing parts for the rebuild.

As with most builds, things can get out of hand, what started out as an engine rebuild has turned into a complete rebuild with a whole bunch of far:

  • Barnett Performance Carbon Kevlar clutch
  • New front Calipers + Discs
  • New front brake pads
  • Engine gasket kit
  • Speigler brake lines
  • New front master cylinder
  • Fuel petcock rebuild kits
  • New fuse box
  • All-Balls Racing Swingarm bearing kit
  • New OEM crankshaft bearings
  • New stainless screw set

There's more to come as well:

  • Bates-style chrome headlight
  • New OEM 2nd gear
  • New OEM cam chain tensioner
  • New OEM piston rings

I've recently discovered C5 Performance Ignitions who produce an optical-sensor based ignition system specifically for an XS750 (among other bikes) so I'll be ordering one soon enough.

I've also been thinking about a new color scheme...something along the lines of gloss black and chrome with touches of gold/champagne. I'm working on a Photoshop render to nail down the image I have in my head!

Well that's all for now, stay tuned for more updates.
